Group ClassesFor Beginning and Intermediate students, we recommend small group classes or semi-private classes. The groups are composed of 5-8 students in the same age group, with the same musical experience. These classes are 50 minutes long with another 10 minutes of question/answer and assignments.
The semi-private classes are two students of the same age group with the same level of music experience. These classes are 30 minutes long.
Beginning study for students 7-15 years old will focus first on learning the fingerings for triad chords, rhythm, and music reading. Beginning students 10 and older will learn the fingerings for full chords, rhythm and note reading. They will learn all 6 strings to the 5th fret and basic chord progressions.
Intermediate and advanced students will study advanced music theory as well as learning the riffs, licks, chord progressions used in Rock, Jazz, Country, Hip Hop.
With their teacher’s agreement, Intermediate students may also participate in a band that is focused on the student’s musical goals, whether Rock, Country, or Gospel. The bands give quarterly concerts for friends and relatives in our new “Rock House” performing and teaching facility. Band classes are 50 minutes long.
